The 30-share index was trading at 27,525, up 238 points or 0.87 per cent. It touched a high of 27,549.67 and a low of 27,456.23 in morning trade.
The Nifty50 was at 8,318, up 67 points or 0.81 per cent. It touched a high of 8,328.10 and a low of 8,305.40 in the first 30 minutes of trade.
The S&P BSE Midcap Index was up 0.68 per cent and BSE S&P Smallcap Index edged higher by 0.70 per cent.
