Sensex ends 100 points higher, Nifty holds above 7,800; GAIL surges 4% -- 17 Nov 2015

The S&P BSE Sensex ended the day with a gain of 100 points, or 0.41 per cent, at 25,864 while the 50-stock barometer Nifty50 closed at 7,837, up 31 points, or 0.40 per cent. GAIL and ITC were the top gainers on the BSE benchmark 

The market has ended with gains for another day. The Sensex was up 104.37 points or 0.4 percent at 25864.47. The Nifty was up 30.95 points or 0.4 percent at 7837.55. About 1390 shares advanced, 1298 shares declined and 169 shares were unchanged. GAIL, ITC, Vedanta, Tata Steel and Hindalco were top gainers while Infosys, Dr Reddy's Labs, Axis Bank, Bajaj Auto and Hero MotoCorp were losers.

                             

Sensex: 25877.94, up 117 points; Nifty: 7838.55, up 32 points 

Top Gainers: 

GAIL (3.6%), ITC (2.8%), HINDALCO (2.1%), VEDANTA (2.1%), TATA MOTORS (1.9%) 

Top Losers: 

INFOSYS (1.9%), DR. REDDYS LAB (1.8%), AXIS BANK (1.1%), BAJAJ AUTO (0.8%), HERO MOTOCORP (0.7%)
