Sensex opens below 25000, Nifty weak; Tata Motors down 4% -- 14 Dec 2015

 The Sensex is down 170.63 points or 0.7 percent at 24873.80 and the Nifty down 54.75 points or 0.7 percent at 7555.70. About 192 shares have advanced, 335 shares declined, and 66 shares are unchanged. GAIL, Hero MotoCorp, Maruti, HUL and Sun Pharma are top gainers while Tata Motors, TCS, M&M, ONGC and Axis Bank are among losers in the Sensex.

                                         

The 30-share index was trading at 24,932, down 111 points or 0.45 per cent. It touched a high of 24,949.39 and a low of 24,867.73 in morning trade. The Nifty50 was at 7,581 down 28 points or 0.37 per cent. It touched a high of 7,558.20 and a low of 7,551.05 in the first 30 minutes of trade. Tata SteelBSE -0.12 % (up 1.1 per cent), Maruti SuzukiBSE 0.79 % (up 0.65 per cent), BHELBSE 0.30 % (up 0.63 per cent), and Infosys (up 0.30 per cent) were among the major Sensex gainers. Tata MotorsBSE -4.02 % (down 3.4 per cent), M&M (down 1.6 per cent), TCS (down 1.1 per cent), ITC (down 1.09 per cent), and Axis BankBSE -1.21 % (down 1.09 per cent) were among the major Sensex losers.
